Crump Family makes impactful donation that will support capital campaign initiatives
Murray State Athletics has received a generous investment of $100,000 from Scotty and Debi Crump, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The gift will help the department continue its mission to invest in capital campaign initiatives to enhance the Athletics footprint, furthering the Racers' commitment to the student-athlete experience.
"Scotty and Debi are longtime supporters of Racer Athletics and we are incredibly grateful for this generous gift," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "There has been a tremendous amount of progress around our athletics footprint, and this gift will allow us to further these enhancements and start new projects in the near future."
Â
Murray State has seen unprecedented growth around its facilities, having already begun more than $2.5 million in capital projects, including the newly announced renovation of the men's basketball locker room and continued updates to the football team spaces and locker room.
Other projects that have been completed over the last 18 months include the weight room renovation in Roy Stewart Stadium, the Baseball/Softball Performance Center, upgrades to football team spaces and the new LED lights in the CFSB Center.
Â
"Debi and I are thrilled to invest in the long-term vision for success that Racer Athletics has set," Scotty Crump said. "Murray State means so much to us, and we both felt that this was the right time to give back. We cannot wait to see continued enhancements around the athletic department and the impact that this progress will have on current and future student-athletes."
Â
The Racer Club plays a crucial role in helping support student-athlete scholarships, general operating budget, and facility enhancements. Investors play a critical role in funding the student-athlete experience and the competitive success of Murray State Athletics programs and student-athletes.
