Winners in Cedar Falls, Racers Pick Up Big Road Victory

Murray State women's basketball defeated Northern Iowa for the first time in program history on Thursday night
Murray State women's basketball defeated Northern Iowa 95-89 on Thursday night in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The win is the Racers first victory over UNI in program history and moves MSU to 5-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play, tied for first place in the league.
Led by Ava Learn's sixth double-double of the season and Haven Ford's 27-point performance, Murray State handed UNI just their second home loss of the season. Learn grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds while Ford and fellow sophomore guard Halli Poock combined for 48 points.
Freshman Braxcynn Baker continued her hot shooting streak, knocking down three more three point attempts in just 15 minutes played. Briley Pena helped with the Racers strong shooting night from behind the arc, going two for two on three point attempts. Katelyn Young had nine points and five rebounds while Destiny Thomas stuffed the statsheet with four points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
