Murray State defeated Drake 81-59 to secure a weekend sweep of the Iowa schools for the first time in program history

For the first time in program history Murray State women's basketball defeated Drake 81-59 in Des Moines, Iowa. The win secures a sweep of the Missouri Valley Conference Iowa schools after the Racers won over Northern Iowa for the first time on Thursday night.

All-time leading scorer Katelyn Young shined for the Racers, scoring 26 points on 10-12 shooting while dishing out seven assists. The performance is Young's 29th career game scoring 25 or more points and is a season high.

Fellow post threat Ava Learn continued her hot streak with 19 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the campaign. Halli Poock had 19 points and four assists in the contest to follow her 21 point performance from Thursday night. Eight Racers scored in the game and MSU is now 12-0 this season when scoring at least 80 points.

The Racers move atop the MVC standings along with rival Belmont as the only two teams at 6-1 in league play.
