Racers Defeat Tigers in Regular Season Finale

Murray State fired a 4717 on their way to a Bluff City victory.
The Murray State Racers recorded scores of 2346 in small bore and 2371 in air rifle for an aggregate of 4717 on Saturday morning in Memphis, Tenn.Â
ÂSenior Scott Patterson claimed the top individual rankings with a season-high 1184 aggregate while firing a third-place 588 in smallbore and claimed second in air rifle with a 596.Â
Â"Overall today was a good day for the team and there are many positives to take away from the weekend," said Patterson. "We've been extremely consistent in smallbore which is a great foundation to build on. However, we recognize there are some areas we can still improve upon going into OVC Championships next weekend."
ÂZach Jackson continued his success from last week's Withrow Invitation with yet another season-high, firing a 591 in smallbore to lead all shooters in the category.Â
ÂJohn Blanton claimed the fourth individual ranking with an aggregate of 1176. The Brookings, S.D. native took fifth place in smallbore with a 585 and eighth in air rifle with a 591.
ÂCarlotta Salafia continued her productive freshman season by placing seventh individually with a 1174 aggregate and 72 centers. The Pezzana, Italy native placed sixth in air rifle with a score of 582 and fired a 592 in air rifle to take seventh. Â
ÂJunior Paola Paravati rounded out the top ten for the Racers by claiming the eighth spot with the same scores as Salafia with 68 centers.Â
ÂThe Racers will return to Murray, Ky. to host the 2025 OVC Rifle Championship at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range on February 1 and 2.
