Racers Travel to Hawkeye State for Pair of MVC Matches

Murray State Volleyball is set to hit the road for its first weekend road trip of the Missouri Valley Conference schedule. Â
The Racers (2-9, 0-2 MVC) are currently at the bottom of the conference standings, having lost seven straight. Drake is one spot ahead with a record of 4-10 and a 0-3 conference mark, while UNI sits atop the MVC standings with a 10-5 record and an undefeated 3-0 MVC record.Â
The Bulldogs have lost four straight, including each of their first three MVC matchups, with their last victory being a 3-0 win over Villanova on September 19. Meanwhile, the Panthers have won six in a row, with their last loss coming at the hands of the Creighton Bluejays on September 14.Â
The Racers have been led on offense by seniors Ella Vogel and Federica Nuccio. Vogel leads the team with 133 kills and is fourth in the MVC with a per-set average of 3.59. Nuccio has totaled 97 kills on the season, and her average of 2.85 per set is her highest since 2022. Setter Katie Titus features 216 assists on the season and is third in the MVC with 6.97 per set, while Paige Brock has put up 158. Morgan McClure leads the team with 27.0 blocks on the year, and freshman libero Halle Forester leads the team with 106 digs. Â
Drake is led by 2024 MVC Co-Player of the Year Macy Daufeldt with 180 kills and an average of 3.16 per set. Kathryn Quick leads the team with 222 assists, while Gabbie Schroeder features 172 digs on the year, and Bliss Beck leads the team and the MVC with 62.0 total blocks.
The Panthers feature a pair of standout outsides in Cassidy Hartman and Lily Dykstra. Hartman is second in the MVC with 195 kills on the season, and Dykstra is right behind with 189. Reece Booth leads the team with 309 assists, while the defense is anchored by Jadyn Petersen with 226 digs and Maryn Bixby with 45.0 blocks.
Following their matches in the Hawkeye State, Murray State returns to Racer Arena for a pair of homecoming weekend matches. On Friday, October 10, the Racers will host Indiana State for a 6 p.m. CT match before hosting Illinois State the following afternoon at 1 p.m. CT.Â
