Racers Fall to Drake as Third Set Rally Falls Short

The Murray State Racers lost to the Drake Bulldogs in straight sets on Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa.
The loss is the eighth straight for the Racers as they fall to 2-10 on the season and 0-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
The opening set saw the Bulldogs (5-10, 1-3 MVC) jump out to an early 12-4 lead before winning 25-15. The second set also saw Drake go ahead early, this time with the Bulldogs hanging on to win 25-20. Things appeared to be turning around for the Navy & Gold as they went ahead 19-12 in the third; however, the Bulldogs rallied back to clinch the match with a 25-21 win.
Ella Vogel led the Racers with 11 kills while Federica Nuccio added eight, including three consecutive in the third set. Paige Brock put up 19 assists with Katie Titus chipping in 12 of her own, while Halle Forester had 17 digs and Mija Prstovnik had 12.
Kacia Brown led the Bulldogs with 14 kills, while Kathryn Quick had 20 assists, and Gabbie Schroder added 13 digs.
The Racers are back at it on Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where they will take on the Northern Iowa Panthers at 1 p.m. CT.
