Chicago, Ill. – Murray State soccer continues its push toward the close of the 2025 regular season with three straight road matches, beginning Thursday in Chicago against the UIC Flames.
Â
The Racers enter the matchup with momentum after back-to-back home wins over Missouri Valley opponents. With those victories, Murray State now holds the top RPI ranking in the MVC, sitting 25 spots ahead of second-place Belmont.
Â
Despite leading the conference in RPI, the Racers sit fourth in the MVC standings, tied with next week's opponent, Indiana State.
Â
Senior captain Mary Hardy and freshman Ava Wilson enter the week as the reigning MVC weekly award winners, Hardy earning Player of the Week and Wilson taking Freshman of the Week honors.
Â
Murray State continues to flex its offensive strength, coming off a three-goal performance and ranking second in the conference in total shots (245) while leading the MVC with an average of 16.3 shots per match.
Â
UIC, picked second in the preseason MVC poll, has struggled offensively this season, recording the fewest goals and points in the league. However, the Flames feature a strong defensive unit, allowing just one goal per match and tying the Racers with six shutouts on the year.
UIC's lineup includes two Preseason First Team All-MVC selections, Riley Collett and Francesca Farasi, as well as honorable mentions Sophia Jaime and Hannah Gryzik.
The Racers and Flames will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, on ESPN+.
