Murray, Ky. – Murray State soccer hosts Southern Illinois on Friday, Oct. 10, in its second-to-last home match of the 2025 regular season.
The Racers are still seeking their first win of Missouri Valley Conference play after three ties and a loss through four matches.
Despite entering their conference slate with offensive momentum, scoring has been hard to come by over the last four matches, with just two goals in that span — both from sophomore Breece Bass.
Goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio and the Racers' defensive front have played at a high level all season, allowing fewer than two goals in every match since early September.
Friday's match will mark just the sixth meeting between the two programs, with the Racers leading the all-time series 3-2. In two previous meetings at Cutchin Field, the Racers have won both, outscoring the Salukis 5-2.
Southern Illinois enters its fifth MVC matchup with a 3-1 conference record and a 9-2-2 mark overall.
The Salukis feature a balanced offensive attack, with seven players scoring at least two goals this season, while the Racers have four.
SIU opened the season with two players earning Preseason All-MVC Honorable Mentions: Sophia Schlicklin and Olivia Anderson.
