Ailey Schyck hits two home runs as Murray State wins 10-2.

The Murray State Racers defeated the Northwestern State Demons 10-2 on a sunny Saturday at the South Alabama Invitational in Mobile, Alabama.

The Demons got on the board early as a ground ball from Ary Santana Garcia bounced off of third base, allowing Sophia Livers to score the opening run of the game.

The Racers struck back in the second with a three-run homer by Ailey Schyck to left center, giving them a 3-1 lead.

They kept the party going in the third as a Bailey Broemmer double to center sent Eric Lackey all the way. A Parker Holcombe single through the left side sent Broemmer home before Schyck delivered her second three-run shot of the game, this time to straight center to make it 8-1.

The Demons got one back in the fourth as DJ Lynch scored on an error, however, the Racers added two more on a Kinley Minor pop-up and an RBI single from Ava Ozment to make the final 10-2.

Ailey Schyck finished the day 2-2 and is now one of five Racers tied for second place all-time in single-game RBI with six and becomes just the 15th Racer of all time to homer twice in a single game.

Erin Lackey, Bailey Broemmer, and Parker Holcombe all finished the day with two hits as well. Minor, Ozment, Broemmer, and Kayleigh White each registered RBI.

Raylee Roby picked up her second win of the weekend, pitching four full innings and only allowing two earned runs across 20 batters faced. Karlye Graber pitched two innings in relief and allowed no earned runs and struck out one.

The Racers are back in action on Friday, February 14 in Martin, Tenn. for the Skyhawk Invitational. Their first matchup will be 12:30 p.m. CT contest against DePaul.
