Murray State's Katelyn Young had her jersey retired pregame as MSU defeated SIU on Senior Day
On a day that Murray State defeated Southern Illinois 87-64, Murray State women's basketball all-time great, Katelyn Young had her jersey retired pregame as part of MSU's senior day at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers pick up their 20th win of the season and move to 14-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
MSU honored four seniors on the day in Young, Ava Learn, Trinity White, and Jenna Walker. The program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, Young ended the game with 19 points and six rebounds to bring her career totals to 2,888 points and 1,180 rebounds.Â
Sophomore guards Halli Poock and Haven Ford had 23 points and 16 points, respectively as Poock led all scorers. Learn finished the contest with 13 points and six rebounds while Briley Pena poured in 11 points of her own.
Murray State has two more regular season games at Evansville and at Indiana State.
