Record Breaking Afternoon for the Racers Offense

Murray State scores 38 runs in Wednesday victory over Kentucky State.
The Racers hit six home runs in Wednesday's victory. Jonathan Hogart extended his team lead to 11 with a pair of home runs in his two at-bats in the game, both coming in the first inning. Dan Tauken added a grand slam in the bottom of the third to give him two hits and six RBIs for the afternoon.
Sophomore Brady Grabowski recorded his first career hit and home run Wednesday. Grabowski went 3-3 with six RBIs.
Every Murray State batter who recorded a plate appearance reached base in Wednesday's contest.
Preston Chaudoin got the start for Murray State and struck out a career-high five batters in two innings of work. Reese Oakley earned the win for the Racers. It was the freshman's first career win.
The Racers will return to action on Friday at Johnny Reagan Field, hosting UIC for a three-game weekend series. First pitch for Friday's opening game is scheduled for 5 p.m. All three games will stream live on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on GoRacers.com.

Game Notes:
- The Racers' 18 walks in Wednesday's game are the second most in a game in program history.
- MSU's 23 hits were the most in a single game since Feb. 22, 2022, against Butler.
- The 11 runs scored in the bottom of the fifth inning are the second most scored in a single inning in Racers history and the most since Mar. 26, 1975, against North Dakota.
- Nico Bermeo and Charlie Jury added home runs to give MSU six for the game.
- Brady Grabowski, Charlie Jury and Dan Tauken all recorded five or more RBIs in Wednesday's game.
- Dom Decker went 4-5 with a double and three RBIs. Decker also extended his reached base streak to 12 games.
- Carson Garner extended his on base streak to 17 games.
- Danny Rollins recorded his first career collegiate hit with a two RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- The Racers are now 5-0 all-time against Kentucky State.
