Racers to Kick Off Conference Play at Illinois State

Murray, Ky. – The Racers will head North to face the Illinois State Redbird in their first match of MVC play for the 2025 season.

The Racers bring a four-match unbeaten run into MVC play, highlighted by 20 or more shots in each contest, a mark they last reached in 2019.

Freshman Addison Howell enters the week coming off a performance vs. Southeast Missouri worthy of MVC Freshman of the Week honors, the third weekly honor for the Racers alongside Megan Wilson and Griselda Revolorio.

The Racers and the Redbird have limited history on the pitch together, with the Racers leading the all-time series 2-0-1. In their first match in 2023, the Racers scores seven goals, still the most goals scored since becoming a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, on their way to a 7-3 victory.

Breece Bass has led the Racers offensive attack, putting herself 25^th in the nation in shots taken, coming off an eight-shot performance against SEMO.

Illinois State is led offensively by freshman Rylann Law, who has four goals and 27 shots. On defense, Jade Rehberger earned MVC Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring back-to-back shutouts.

The Redbirds enter Thursday winless in their last three, including back-to-back scoreless draws, while the Racers look to extend their unbeaten run
