Murray, Ky. – The Racers look to continue their momentum as they travel to Clarksville, Tenn., to face Austin Peay in the second-to-last nonconference match of the season.
With conference play looming, the Racers' offense has found its footing at the right time, scoring five goals over the past two matches, both resulting in wins over Marshall and UT Martin.
The Racers have dominated their historic matchup with former OVC foe Austin Peay, leading the all-time series 17-4-2. They boast a six-game winning streak against the Govs and are 11-0-1 in the last 12 matches.
Sophomore Breece Bass has heated up offensively, scoring in the previous two matches. Bass is the only Racer with multiple goals, while seven others have netted one.
The Racers' offense faces a strong defensive front in Austin Peay, which has allowed one or fewer goals in four of its six matches through nonconference play.
The Governors' offense has struggled to produce this season, as they still search for their first goal of the regular season.
Murray State and Austin Peay take the pitch at 1 p.m. CDT Sunday, Sept. 6, in Clarksville. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
