Murray State women's basketball hosts Belmont on Sunday afternoon
A pair of the Missouri Valley Conference's best collide on Sunday as Murray State hosts the Belmont Bruins in a battle for first place at the CFSB Center.
Murray State enters the contest on a 13-game winning streak, the longest active run in the conference. Head coach Rechelle Turner's squad has shown a high-powered offense that ranks among the top 25 nationally, averaging over 82 points per game.Â
Belmont arrives in Murray having won six straight games. The Bruins, led by coach Bart Brooks, are coming off a gritty 85-77 road win at Indiana State on Thursday. Belmont features a balanced attack led by sophomore forward Hilary Fuller and veteran guard Tuti Jones, who recently surpassed 1,500 career points.
While Belmont has historically controlled the series, the Racers won both the regular season and tournament titles a season ago.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST.
