Racers Look For Bounce Back at UNI

The Racers take on the Northern Iowa Panthers Saturday in Cedar Falls
The Murray State Racers will try and get back on the winning track Saturday when they travel to Cedar Falls to meet the Northern Iowa Panthers for the sixth time as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. The 3 p.m. tip off at the McLeod Center finds the Racers going for three in a row there after wins in 2024 and 2025.
The Racers remain in first place in the MVC at 8-1 after losing for the first time this season in MVC play on Wednesday night in Des Moines 101-90 to the Drake Bulldogs.
In the loss to the Bulldogs, the Racers saw their 12-game winning streak, fifth-longest in NCAA D-I come to an end. In 3-point percentage, the Racers dropped from 34 to 51 in the nation after a 7-32 night (.219). For the season the Racers are still second in the MVC at .364, with Mason Miller and Javon Jackson ranking 5th and 7th in The Valley in made threes. The senior duo has combined this season to hit 75-176 (.426).
The Racers are 3-2 in road games with wins at Valparaiso, UIC and Evansville with a loss in December at SMU and the loss at Drake Wednesday.
MSU ranks as the top scoring team in the MVC and 20th nationally with an average of 87.9 points per game.
After the game at UNI, the Racers come home Wednesday to host Illinois State.
