The Murray State Racers split a Tuesday doubleheader against the Belmont Bruins at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

Game 1: Murray State 8, Belmont 4
The fireworks started early in the opening game of the day, with the Racers putting up three runs in the first inning. Freshman Allie Waldron hit her third home run of the season, an opposite-field two-run shot, to start the scoring. Kenley Minor added one more for the Navy & Gold in the first with an RBI single that scored Bailey Broemmer.
Belmont answered in the bottom of the inning with a homer of its own, a solo shot to center field by Nicole Hughes that made it 3-1. However, the Bruins would not get on the board again until the final inning.
After three scoreless innings, the Racers got on the board again in the fifth when Kynadee Warner scored on an error. Parker Holcombe added two more for Murray State with a two-RBI single that increased the lead to 6-1.
Allie Waldron increased the lead in the sixth with a two-RBI double, giving the Racers a commanding 8-1 lead going into the final inning.
The Bruins attempted to mount a comeback, putting up three runs in the seventh, but it was not enough as the Racers handed Belmont its second MVC loss of the season.
Allie Waldron finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with five RBI and a pair of runs scored. Parker Holcombe added two more RBI on one hit, and Kenley Minor had one RBI as well. Adison Hicks went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.
