MURRAY, Ky. – Murray State baseball will welcome the Memphis Tigers to Johnny Reagan Field Tuesday at 1 p.m. for a non-conference midweek matchup.
The Racers enter the contest in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a 12-6 record in league play, coming off a road series victory over Southern Illinois.
Murray State's weekend was highlighted by a dominant performance Friday afternoon, which featured the second career complete game from senior right-hander Nic Schutte and a grand slam from Kainen Jorge. The Racers secured the series win with a 7-5 victory Sunday and have now won five of their last six conference games.
In their only other home midweek contest this season, the Racers fell to SEMO 8-1. Murray State looks to bounce back Tuesday and improve upon its 4-7 record in midweek action.
Memphis enters the game with a 16-26 overall record and an 8-10 mark in AAC play. The Tigers are looking to regain momentum as they bring a 1-4 record over their last five games to Murray.
The Racers and Tigers share a lengthy history, with Murray State trailing in the all-time series 38-65, including a 17-32 record at home. Despite the historical record, the Racers have taken three of the last five matchups, all of which have come during head coach Dan Skirka's tenure.
First pitch is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
