MURRAY, Ky. – Murray State baseball is set to host North Alabama in the final regular-season action at Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The Racers secured a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament field following this past weekend's results.
Tuesday's midweek matchup serves as a rematch of the Feb. 18 contest in Florence, Alabama, where the Lions defeated Murray State 15-5 in run-rule fashion. Murray State leads the all-time series 14-7 and holds a 6-2 advantage when hosting North Alabama.
Despite a weekend series loss, Murray State found plenty of success in the batter's box. The effort was led by Connor Chisolm, who batted .615 on the weekend with five extra-base hits, highlighted by a two-homer performance in Sunday's win over Indiana State.
Not far behind Chisolm in production was sophomore Conner Cunningham, who slashed .538/.571/.923 across three games. Cunningham tied a career high with four hits in Saturday's loss against Indiana State.
Right-hander Ben Rosin was stellar in relief over the weekend, striking out six batters in six total innings of work across two appearances.
North Alabama arrives in Murray with a 25-25 overall record and a 16-11 mark in Atlantic Sun play. The Lions currently sit in third place in the ASUN Gold Division and have clinched a spot in the ASUN Championship.
The Lions feature a high-powered offense with three batters who have recorded at least 10 home runs: Wes Walker, Dylan Coleman, and Nash Rippen. Walker and Coleman have each logged over 50 RBIs on the season.
Murray State and North Alabama are slated for a 4 p.m. first pitch at Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park, with the contest available to stream on ESPN+
