Racers Open Exhibition Slate at Western Kentucky

MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State women's soccer opens its 2026 exhibition slate on the road at Western Kentucky on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 6 p.m. in Bowling Green.
The trip marks the first fall action for the Racers under coach Ben Madsen, who guided Murray State through a five-match spring slate after taking the helm of the program.
Murray State carries momentum into the meeting, having won each of its last two exhibition matches. That run includes a 1-0 win over the Hilltoppers in an exhibition ahead of the 2025 regular season, when the Racers broke through with a goal in the final minute.
The Racers are coming off a 10-4-5 campaign in 2025 that earned them the right to host a semifinal in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Wednesday's match offers a first look at a new roster that features 12 new members.
Western Kentucky enters its own preseason after a 9-5-3 season in 2025, a sharp turnaround from a 3-8-5 finish in 2024. The Hilltoppers' year ended with a loss to Missouri State in the Conference USA Tournament.
