This week we dive into the record-breaking 4X400 relay team for the Racers after they set a new mark at Murray State at the Mizzou meet. A visit with one of the members of the team, Chelby Melvin, who is also a nationally known 400M hurdler in outdoor track & field.We also visit with Coach Rechelle Turner of the first place Racer women's basketball team and Coach Steve Prohm and the Racers hit the road this week to play Evansville and Missouri State. In our recap and preview of the week ahead for the Racers, Murray State Rifle hosts the OVC Championship this weekend at Roy Stewart Stadium.

As the renovation goes forward at the CFSB Center, we thought this is a good time to explain more about Murray State basketball tickets and parking, plus we'll explore all of the various seating options you can enjoy in the 2026-27 season. MSU's Devin Gregory and Taylor Mudd join the show to provide answers. We'll hear from Murray State hall of Famer Jonathan Stark who is bringing a charity golf scramble to Murray on July 10 and the MVC and its member schools announced a planned leap forward for the Arch Madness postseason basketball tournament, as the men and women's teams play in the same place and in the same week in March 2027.

Dave winder has another installment of the Runnin' with The Racers Podcast, the program that has featured 68 Murray State Hall of Fame members. Coach Buddy Hewitt started his Murray State career as an all-star for Racer Football and later launched the Murray State men's golf program in 1961, and that led to him nurturing his student-athletes for next 41 years. Hewitt remains one of the larger-than-life figures in MSU history and was inducted into the MSU Hall in 1990. He passed away in 2015, three months from his 88th birthday. On the program today, his daughter Lynn Dowdy, current Murray State Golf Coach Jacob Miller, former MSU Coach Eddie Hunt and former Hewitt player John Hobby share their thoughts about Buddy Hewitt.

A busy summer continues for the Racer Athletics with news of the massive improvements for Racer Field, the home of Murray State Softball. We'll hear from head coach Kara Amundson. MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson comments on his recent appointment to the NCAA D-I Men's Basketball Committee and what it means for the present and future of The Valley. We'll also touch on both Racer basketball teams, football and some key additions to MSU Baseball.
