In the late 1960's a smashing running back from Shelby, Ohio arrived at Murray State. His name was Rick Fisher. A MSU hall of famer since 1981, Fisher's records with the Racers are still standing the test of time as he's still the fourth all-time rusher in program history. On today's podcast, Fisher talks of how of he came to MSU, the crazy life of professional football, his great run as head coach at Murray High School (1990-2005) and the now famous 1994 Kentucky state championship game that still has people talking because of its strange ending. Wayback Wednesday takes us back to a MSU football win at EKU in 2004 and MSU Athletics recently secured its 30th straight semester of a 3.0 GPA for its combined 350+ student-athletes.

Phase 3 of upgrades were announced for Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park by Murray State Athletics. Since Murray State Baseball went all the way to the College World Series in 2025, the upward movement of Racer Baseball has been impressive. Dave Winder visits with AD Nico Yantko and Head Coach Dan Skirka. Plus a recap of the Racers' opening day game, a 28-14 loss last Thursday against Eastern Illinois. The Murray State men's basketball team knocked off Poissy BC Thursday 113-46 to make it a perfect 4-0 on their tour that began in Spain, went through Greece and ended in France. Head Coach Ryan Miller and senior Ben Shtolzberg comment on the trip helped set the stage for the coming 2026-27 basketball season. We also get ready for the 2026 Murray Sate soccer season as the Racers play at Ole Miss Friday and host Missouri Sunday at Cutchin Field.

The Racers won going away in a 110-72 victory Monday to make it a 3-0 showing in their 2026 tour of Europe. Dave Winder shares a highlight dunk by Lachlan Crate and a recap of the game that saw 10 Racers score. Also Head Coach Ryan Miller and players Roman Domon and Mathis Courbon comment on being able to play at home in front of family and friends in the home country of France.
