2007: Appeared in all 11 games during the season...had four catches for 36 yards...hauled in a season-long 15-yard pass in the opener against Louisville...also had catches against Illinois State, Eastern Illinois and UT Martin...returned a kickoff 13 yards in the victory over Lambuth.
2006: Made the switch to tight end in 2006 and started six games...Played in all 11 games...finished the season with 12 receptions for 148 yards...had a career day against Eastern Kentucky, catching a career-best five passes for a career-best 73 yards...had three receptions for 30 yards in the season finale against then-No. 12 UT-Martin...member of the Fall 2006 Murray State Dean’s List.
2005: Was the backup fullback during his freshman season...appeared in 11 games on special teams and started the last four games when Matt Webber was injured...had two carries for seven yards and also caught one pass for seven yards...earned a spot on the 2004-05 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2004: Redshirted during the 2004 season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was originally signed as an offensive lineman from Huntsville High School, where he was an Alabama All-State selection at middle linebacker and fullback...other honors included All-Huntsville Metro first team and all-region defensive player of the year in 2004...helped the North squad break a losing streak against the South in the Alabama North-South All-Star Classic...also competed in wrestling, baseball and basketball.
PERSONAL: Full name is Zachary Edkar Knight...born on Dec. 27, 1985...son of Karen Knight...has worked on many community service projects and is also involved in ministry with the Young Life program in Huntsville...an avid outdoorsman, loves to fish and hunt...member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, as well as the Sigma Alpha Lambda academic club and the AHT/Pre-Vet club...majoring in animal health with a pre-veterinary medicine emphasis.
