- Is in third season with the Racers as assistant coach for the 2024-25 season.
- Was part of the Racers' successful first season as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022-23.
- The Racers scored a win over eight MVC opponents and finished with a winning season (11-9) and had a winning season overall (17-15).
- The Racers scored a win at Arch Madness when they defeated Valparaiso 78-50.
- MSU opened MVC play with overtime wins over Illinois State and Valparasio, which marked the first instance of MSU playing back-to-back games in overtime in records that begin in 1983.
- MSU's 2-0 start made them just the sixth first-year MVC member since WWII to win its first two conference games and the Racers were the first to win both of them in overtime.
- MSU saw its first MVC weekly award when Jacobi Wood was named Newcomer of the Week after the Racers played at the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
- Rob Perry became the Racers' first All-MVC pick at the end ofd the season when he was named to the Third Team.
- MSU led the MVC in attendance with an average of 5218 per game.
Before MSU
- Came to Murray State after two seasons at East Carolina.
- Spent the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach at Virginia Tech.
- Helped the Hokies assemble a top-40 ranked recruiting class at Virginia Tech.
- Tech’s Lander Nolley earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team honors as well as USBWA All-District III accolades during his lone season in Blacksburg.
- Was assistant to former Murray State Coach Mick Cronin at Cincinnati in seven seasons.
- Helped the Bearcats win back-to-back American Athletic Conference Tournament titles in 2018 and 2019.
- Developed Gary Clark (2017-18) and Jarron Cumberland (2018-19) into The AAC Player of the Year winners.
- In all at Cincinnati, helped develop four NBA players, three All-Americans, 11 all-conference selections, two Defensive Player of the Year winners, two all-rookie team selections and one Sixth Man of the Year winner.
- A talented recruiter and gifted coach, Jackson was invited to the NCAA’s prestigious Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) program during the summer 2016, where he was put through an intensive development program for preparation of career advancement.
- As an assistant at UMass from 2009-12, he helped resurrect the program as the Minutemen won 25 games during the 2011-12 season, their most since reaching the 1996 Final Four.
- Had three players at UMass that earned All-Atlantic 10 honors.
- From 2005-08, helped retool the program at William & Mary with Coach Tony Shaver.
- In three seasons, the Tribe improved its overall record by nine wins from his first season to final year.
- The Tribe also produced two all-conference and two all-rookie team selections during his three seasons.
- Began his career in the high school and AAU ranks.
- Was assistant coach at Paul VI High School in Fairfax, Va., during the 2004-05 season, and was an assistant coach at Bishop McNamara in Forestville, Md., from 2001-04.
- On the AAU circuit Jackson was part of the effort with DC Assault and Maryland Select squads for two summers (2004-05).
- DC Assault has produced many NCAA Division I and NBA players and coaches.
- Has worked at some of the top summer basketball camps in the country, including the adidas Superstar Camp and several years at the Five Star Basketball Camp.
- Along with his coaching positions, Jackson spent 11 years at KPMG, LLP in Washington, D.C., and McLean, Virginia, most recently holding the position of senior associate in the company’s real estate and mortgage division.
Personal
- Earned a degree in business management and accounting from Pikeville College in 1993.
- Was a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention selection his junior and senior seasons while leading his team in assists.
- He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Melanie and Elijah.
