2011-12: Started in all 33 games ... Averaged 23.6 minutes per game … Is MSU’s leading returning rebounder (11th in OVC) with 5.5 per game ... Led the Racers and OVC with 50 blocked shots … Starts the 12-13 season with 106 career blocks for ninth on the MSU all-time list … Had an outstanding game in the NCAA Tournament against Marquette (March 17) when he tied his career-high with 14 rebounds … Was 6-of-9 from the field in two NCAA games to go with 20 rebounds and five blocked shots … Scored a season-high 19 points against Austin Peay (Jan. 7) ... The APSU game also marked his only double-double in his career at MSU when he had 11 rebounds ... Scored the winning free throws in the OVC Tournament title game against Tennessee State (March 3) with a minute remaining … Had only two games without an offensive rebound … Was named as the recipient of the Racer Hustle Award … With fellow seniors (Daniel and Burge) Canaan can be in the winningest class in MSU history with 20 wins ... the team at .548 … Had 139 rebounds including a team-best 66 offensive boards for a 4.3 average … Had four double-figure scoring games including his career-high 21 points against Tennessee State (Feb. 3) when he was 8-of-10 from the field and also had a career-high 14 rebounds … Entered the season with a .527 free throw average but improved to .634 on 64-of-101 attempts.
2009-10: Appeared in 36 games with a scoring average of 3.0 points per game and a rebound average of 2.7 … Scored 97 points with 23 blocked shots and 13 steals … Shot .507 from the field on 34-of-67 shots … Had a career-high 10 points against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 11) … His career-high in blocked shots came when he had three against Tennessee Wesleyan (Nov. 28) … Played 15 minutes in MSU’s NCAA win over Vanderbilt with five points and six rebounds … The six rebounds tied his career-high at MSU … Averaged 10.5 minutes per game.
Before MSU: Finished his career at Woodlawn High School scoring 15.8 points per game with 11 rebounds and blocked 3.5 shots per game ... Was named to the regional finals all-tournament team ...
