Eric Frederick

At Murray State

Eric Frederick is in his 33rd year with Murray State Athletics in the 2025-26 school year.
Currently serves as the Racers' Assistant AD for Sports Medicine.
Specifically handles the daily athletic training needs for men's basketball and both MSU golf teams.
With a long history working with MSU men's basketball, Frederick has been a part of the teams coached by Scott Edgar, Mark Gottfried, Tevester Anderson, Mick Cronin, Billy Kennedy, Steve Prohm, Matt McMahon and in 2025, the start of the Ryan Miller era.
Frederick came to Murray State in the fall of 1993 as assistant athletic trainer in 1993.
Directs the sports medicine staff and works closely with MSU team doctors, Dr. Richard Blalock and Dr. Richard Blalock III.
Coordinates the insurance and medical billing for MSU's 350-plus student-athletes.
Also handles travel for the MSU men's basketball team.
Serves as an instructor in the Murray State Department of Applied Health Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Is pursuing a PhD in rehabilitation sciences at the University of Kentucky.
Certified by the Board of Certification for athletic training and is licensed as an athletic trainer in the state of Kentucky.
Is a member of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Before MSU

Worked a student and graduate assistant athletic trainer at Texas Christian University.

Personal

A native of Cleveland, Ohio.
Earned a degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training from TCU in 1992 and master’s degree in exercise physiology from TCU in 1995.
Frederick and his wife, Christy, are the parents of a son, Elliott, who is a student at Murray State.
