At Murray State
- Eric Frederick is in his 33rd year with Murray State Athletics in the 2025-26 school year.
- Currently serves as the Racers' Assistant AD for Sports Medicine.
- Specifically handles the daily athletic training needs for men's basketball and both MSU golf teams.
- With a long history working with MSU men's basketball, Frederick has been a part of the teams coached by Scott Edgar, Mark Gottfried, Tevester Anderson, Mick Cronin, Billy Kennedy, Steve Prohm, Matt McMahon and in 2025, the start of the Ryan Miller era.
- Frederick came to Murray State in the fall of 1993 as assistant athletic trainer in 1993.
- Directs the sports medicine staff and works closely with MSU team doctors, Dr. Richard Blalock and Dr. Richard Blalock III.
- Coordinates the insurance and medical billing for MSU's 350-plus student-athletes.
- Also handles travel for the MSU men's basketball team.
- Serves as an instructor in the Murray State Department of Applied Health Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Is pursuing a PhD in rehabilitation sciences at the University of Kentucky.
- Certified by the Board of Certification for athletic training and is licensed as an athletic trainer in the state of Kentucky.
- Is a member of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Before MSU
- Worked a student and graduate assistant athletic trainer at Texas Christian University.
Personal
- A native of Cleveland, Ohio.
- Earned a degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training from TCU in 1992 and master’s degree in exercise physiology from TCU in 1995.
- Frederick and his wife, Christy, are the parents of a son, Elliott, who is a student at Murray State.
