Krysten Sebby enters her second season with the Racers. She is an assistant coach for both the cross country and track & field teams.
During her first season, she helped coach the men's cross country to finish eighth with only eight student-athletes on the active roster, while the women finished fifth. Both men's and women's cross country team were selected by the USTFCCCA All-Academic honors with men having a 3.68 GPA and the women who finished with a 3.52 GPA. The women's track and field team finished sixth at both the indoor and outdoor OVC Championship which included two first place finishes during the outdoor championship by Tonia Pratt in the discus and Brittany Bohn in the 3000m steeplechase.
Sebby also earned the first Academic All-District for men's cross country when Jarred Koerner was named to the team by CoSIDA.
Before coming to Murray State, Sebby was a volunteer for the Yorkville Endurance Running Camp. She supervised runners from ages 11-18. Her primary responsibility was teaching form running drills and other technical motilities as well as conducting core exercises and group activities.
Sebby is excited about what the 2014-15 season will bring for the Racers,
“I can’t be anything but excited. Our women have very bright futures, and have a chance to be a part of something great for Murray State cross country and track & field. Our men also have a chance to do something great as they continue to build their program.”
Sebby graduated from Lewis University in 2014 with a degree in sport management and a minor in coaching. As a student-athlete, Sebby competed on the cross country and track team. During which, she was the 800m Conference Champion during three of her four years, and a Junior National Qualifier in 2010. She was an All-American in Indoor Track (Distance Medley Relay), where she also was the Distance Medley Relay Conference Champion in 2011 and 14. Her Indoor Track and Field team was Conference Champions in 2011 and 2014. Sebby’s 2013 cross country team was a National Qualifier. In her final season, she was the Indoor and Outdoor 4 by 400 Meter Relay Conference Champion, Outdoor Track and Field Team Conference Champion, and Outdoor Track and Field National Qualifier (4 by 400 Meter Relay). Sebby was the cross country team captain for the 2012-2013season.
