2010: Moved up to the No. 4 spot on the Racers all-time digs list (1,668) after recording the third-best single-season total (608)...tallied 39 of those digs versus Southeast Missouri (Oct. 15), the second-most in a four-match set...named OVC Defensive Player of the Week Nov. 15...was first on the team with 39 service aces and second in assists (71)...ranked No. 46 in the NCAA in digs per set (4.98) and No. 123 in service aces per set (0.32)...helped the team to a No. 37 ranking in the NCAA for Digs Per Set (16.92)...named to the MSU Deans List in the Spring of 2011 and to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2009: Named the 2009 OVC Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Racers in digs (536) and ranking third in the league, with 5.01 digs per set, as the team’s libero...became the 13th member of the MSU 1,000 Dig Club Nov. 10 against Southeast Missouri...also earned All-OVC Second Team Honors...finished the season ranked 13th on the Racer dig lists, with 1,060...was first on the team with 26 service aces...named OVC Defensive Player of the Week once and was named to the Indiana All-Tournament Team...named to the Dean’s List at Murray State during the Spring semester of the 2009-10 school year... named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2008: Earned a spot on the OVC All-Newcomer Team...one of seven players to participate in all 31 matches for the Racers, starting in five...led the team with 524 digs and was second with 19 service aces...her 524 digs ranks her No. 6 in the record books for digs in a season at Murray State...her 4.4 digs per set also ranked her No. 77 in the nation..she was third in the OVC with 5.25 digs per set against league opponents...helped the Racers earn a No. 10 ranking in the country with 17.47 digs per set...tallied 42 digs at Southeast Missouri (Oct. 28), the third most in the nation in a five set match in 2008 and the second most by a Racer in a five set match...recorded 30 or more digs in three matches...named to the Belmont All-Tournament Team.
BEFORE MSU: Was a four-year member of the volleyball team at Mercy Academy...helped the Jaguars to four-straight district and regional championships, while advancing to the state quarterfinals in 2006, the semifinals in 2005 & 2007, and finishing as state runner-up in 2004...named to the district All-Tournament Team her senior and sophomore seasons...Mercy Academy earned a top-10 national ranking from PrepVolleyball.com, finishing the season with a 38-4 mark...earned Defensive Dandy honor from PrepVolleyball.com, as one of the top-36 defensive players in the nation...named to the Kentucky State All-Tournament team in 2006...earned three consecutive Berkely Premier Classic Championships (2005, 2006, 2007)...also played for the Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy (KIVA) club team...won the 2008 AAU national Championship with KIVA 18 White squad and earned 2008 AAU All-American honors...helped the Asics KIVA 16 Red Team earn a third-place finish in the Gold Division at the 2006 Junior Olympics and the Asics KIVA 15 Red Team to a second-place finish in the Gold Division at the 2005 Junior Olympics....also participated in basketball while a prep...her older sister BriAnne is a sophomore defensive specialist on the University of Kentucky volleyball squad.
PERSONAL: Born Kayleah Michelle Sauer, May 3, 1990 in Louisville, Ky....daughter of Chris and Melinda Sauer...has two sisters; BriAnne (23) and Molly (14), and one brother; Austin (19)...sister BriAnne played volleyball at Kentucky from 2006-09...majoring in learning behavioral disorders.
