'Breds drop final game of series to Bowling Green State 14-0

The 'Breds (0-4) mustered only three hits, but left 10 runners on base through six walks issued by Falcon pitchers and two batters getting hit by a pitch.
BGSU (3-0) had a 7-0 lead after five innings but exploded for four runs in the sixth when three of the first four batters walked and a two-run double by Greg Feldkamp capped the scoring in that inning. The Falcons tacked on three runs in the ninth inning for the final score.
Getting hits for Murray State were Jamie Leidolf, Daniel Miller and Lincoln Kent.
Bowling Green State was paced by Tyler Wasserman, who went 4-for-6 with two runs scored. Dash Yost and Andrew Foster each had two hits and four runs batted in for the Falcons.
On defense, Leidolf had five putouts to lead MSU, while Seth Hudson had a team-high three assists. For BGSU, Josh Dietz had nine putouts, while Eric Lawson had four assists.
On the mound, Kalen Gibson (0-2) started and took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking four in five innings. Charlie Wade entered in the sixth inning, allowing four runs on one hit and walking three. Marc Harmon relieved Wade in the sixth, allowing three hits, striking out one and walking one in two innings. Daniel Calhoun pitched the eighth inning, allowing one hit and striking out one, while Anthony Stacy pitched the ninth, allowing three runs on two hits and walking two.
For the Falcons, Greg Becker (1-0) got the win, allowing one hit, striking out two and walking one in four innings (he was on an inning count, allowing him to get the win in fewer than five innings). Garrett Kloots pitched the fifth inning, allowing one hit, while Kevin Leady pitched the sixth inning, striking out two and walking three. Brett Browning pitched the seventh inning, while Marty Baird pitched the eighth, allowing one hit and walking two. Kurt Wells pitched the ninth inning, striking out one.
Murray State visits Vanderbilt (3-4) on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game. The 'Breds then return home to face regional rival Southern Illinois on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
