MSU Wins 82-49 Over Bethel In Exhibition Action

The tune up contest will push the Racers into the real thing, next Saturday Nov. 10 when they welcome the Broncs of Rider University into Murray in a return game from their ESPN BracketBuster meeting last February that the Racers won in New Jersey.
The exhibition for MSU showed again, head coach Billy Kennedy has a deep bench with plenty of combinations and options as 10 different players played at least 13 minutes each.
Sophomores Danero Thomas and Marvin Williams each had successful nights. Thomas was 9-12 from the field and scored 22 points. Williams led MSU with six rebounds and scored 11 points on 4-11 shooting.
Moments later, MSU put together a 14-2 run on two steals and easy lay-ups for Tyler Holloway and a Marvin Williams jumper, plus a Ray George lay-up. With 9:32 left in the half, the Racers were ahead 24-10.
MSU hit eight of their first 11 shots.
Danero Thomas scored the Racers' final basket of the half as MSU enjoyed a 41-26 lead at the break.

MSU started the second half with threes from Holloway and Kevin Thomas to build a 54-29 advantage with 13:34 left and eventually pushed their lead to 30 with 4:24 left.
The Racers shot 57 percent (32-56) from the field while holding the Wildcats to 37 percent (19-51). MSU was 11-18 from three point range,
Tyler Holloway scored 10 points, while Ray George scored eight, with seven coming from Georges Fotso.
