The regional office of Comcast Cable announced it has joined the Racer Television Network pushing the total number of households that can see Murray State Basketball games to 85,000.
"Comcast is excited to partner with New Wave to make Murray State Basketball games available to our customers in Paducah," said Jeff Danner Comcast Delta Area VP of Marketing. "We believe our customers and Racer fans will consider the addition of Racer Basketball a significant value add to our channel lineup"
"This was one of our main objectives when we started the network last season and that was to get as many people as we can to have access to the games," NewWave President Jim Gleason said. "MSU has a large alumni base in McCracken County and this will allow more Racer fans to see the games."
The next scheduled live MSU game is Wednesday when MSU plays at SIU Edwardsville at 7 p.m.
Other MSU games on the Racer TV Network include: Jan. 7 at Tennessee State, Feb. 11 at Tennessee Tech, Feb. 13 at Jacksonville State, Feb. 25 at Morehead State and Feb. 27 at Eastern Kentucky.
Comcast viewers will see the games on channel 17.
NewWave customers will see the games on channel 79 in all areas west of Kentucky Lake and on channel 3 in Hopkinsville and Madisonville.
Mediacom subscribers in Marshall, Calloway, Trigg, and Caldwell Counties can see the games on channel 23, except in Oak Grove, Ky., and Dover, Tenn., where the games will be seen on channel 97.
All Racer TV Network games are available at no additional charge to the subscribers of the three cable carriers.
The network season debut was Dec. 22 when MSU played WKU in Bowling Green, Ky.
Veteran WCBL announcer Jeff Waters is back again to handle play-by-play duties, while Dave Winder, MSU Assistant AD for Media Relations will provide commentary.
The games will be produced by Hopkinsville's WKAG-TV.
