MSU HITS THE ROAD FOR EIU: The Murray State Racers travel to Lantz Arena in Charleston, Ill. for a Monday 7:00 p.m. game against the Panthers of Eastern Illinois. The Racers are coming off a tough-to-take 83-80 loss at Austin Peay Saturday when they got a career-best 30 points from Danero Thomas but couldn't hang on to a second half lead. MSU has won three of their last four with prior wins over Tennessee State Wednesday night in Nashville 88-58. MSU also defeated Southeast Missouri at home (80-55) Jan. 24, and Eastern Illinois at home (58-46) on Jan. 22.

THE FIRST MEETING: The Racers and Panthers met in Murray a little over two weeks ago when MSU scored a 58-46 win in what was one of their best defensive performances of the season. MSU defended EIU leading scorer Romaine Martin well and held him to only two points on 1-of-10 shooting. MSU held EIU to 29 percent shooting from the field on 16-of-55 shots, including only 3-of-13 from three-point range. The Racers managed to scratch out a living on offense and hit 37 percent of their shots (19-of-51). MSU had an excellent game from the free throw line in shooting 91 percent (15-of-16). Tyler Holloway led the Racers with 15 points, while Danero Thomas added 14 and Tony Easley chipped in 10. Easley was only two rebounds from a double-double.

CHASING 1,000 POINTS: Tyler Holloway is closing on becoming the 34th member of the Murray State 1,000-Point Club. He enters this game with 985 points. He's gunning to be the first to get to 1,000 since Shawn Witherspoon joined the club in 2007. Danero Thomas is well on his way to joining the club. He starts the day with 787 career points.

Holloway is also ranked fourth on MSU's all-time made three-pointer list with 185. Given his recent good shooting, Holloway has a chance to catch third place Justin Burdine before the season is finished. Burdine played for the Racers from 1998-02 and finished with 198.
