MSU kept a three to six point lead for most of the set, while going on several two to four point runs to keep the momentum on its side of the net. The Panthers made a final push when they were down 22-15, with a 3-0 run, but that was as close as the Racers allowed them to get on their way to a 25-19 victory.
MSU saw advantage in all areas of the box score, including a .250 (41k-15e-104ta) hitting percentage to the Panthers .117 (38k-24e-120ta). The Racers also out-blocked EIU 10.5 to 7 and earned a 4-1 advantage in service aces.
