The Murray State Racers men's basketball squad had a busy day on the eve of the 2010 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif.
The Racers started with a morning practice at the American Sports Center, the training home for the United States Men's Volleyball team. After lunch they got on the floor at the Anaheim Convention Center for about an hour to get acquainted to the surroundings at the arena.
Wednesday evening, the team was set to attend a Thanksgiving dinner with the other seven teams in the 76 Classic at the tournament headquarters in the Anaheim Hilton. The banquet will be a good time to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and relax before starting the tournament.
MSU takes on Stanford Thanksgiving Day at 8 p.m. central time in a game that will air on the Racer Radio Network and ESPNU.
“We're trying to have fun and get better,” MSU Head Coach Billy Kennedy said. “The emphasis is on getting better and not getting caught up in wins and losses.”
After Thursday's first round game, the Racers will play Tulsa or UNLV Friday at 8:30 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. also on ESPNU.
When MSU takes on Stanford Thursday, it will mark only the second Thanksgiving Day game for the Racers since playing at Siena in 1953 under Head Coach Harlan Hodges.
The Racers and Cardinal can been seen on ESPNU with Mark Neely and Stephen Bardo calling the action.
The Racer Radio Network will also be heard on Froggy 103.7 FM with Neal Bradley and Dave Winder. Free streaming audio is also available on GoRacers.com.
