Men’s Tennis Open Fall Season at Louisville Invitational

Results
The Racers sent six individuals to the flighted invitational. Senior Mason Johnson represented MSU by winning the Flight B Consolation round. The Henderson, Ky., native fell to Lipscomb's Mario Hernandez in the opening round (3-6, 6-4, 4-6) and then defeated fellow teammate Jose Berardo (6-0, 6-0) in the semifinals of the consolation round. Johnson then defeated Austin Peay's Peter Conaty (6-3, 6-0) in the finals.
Johnson and Berardo then paired up in the Flight B doubles matches and went 1-1. The duo defeated Rob Emig and Zeeshan Ismail from Youngstown State (8-5) before falling to Louisville's Dante Terenzio and Felipe Nino, by default in the semifinals.
Junior Jorge Caetano, senior Renaldo Domoney and Berardo were the only other players for MSU to earn a singles victory, as all three went 1-2. Caetano earned a victory over Rodrigo Campos from Youngstown (6-4, 5-7, 6-2). Domoney defeated Curry Martin from Western Kentucky (6-2, 6-3) and Berardo defeated Austin Peay's Drew Kerr (7-5, 6-2).
Senior Luka Milicevic and freshman Arthur Valle also compete in the tournament, but both finished 0-2 in singles action. Milicevic and Domoney combined for a 0-2 doubles record, with Caetano and Valle also falling in both of their doubles matches.
The Racers will next be in action Oct. 2-3 at the Paducah Sun Open in Paducah, Ky.
