The Murray State women's basketball team dropped a 105-62 decision to No. 11 Louisville at the KFC YUM! Center in Louisville, Ky., in the last of four-straight road games.
The Racers (2-5) were led by junior Mariah Robinson, who tallied a team-best 22 points and added three rebounds and five steals. Senior Kayla Lowe and red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess were the other two MSU players in double-digits, with 13 and 10 respectively.
The Cardinals (7-1) started the first four minutes of the game with a 16-0 run and never looked back. After the initial run both teams held the scoring low for the next eight minutes. MSU went on a small 5-0 run over a 30 second span, around the 6 minute mark, but went into the locker room trailing 50-18.
The teams were more evenly matched in the second half, but the advantage that UL built in the first half was enough to hold on for the 105-62 win.
Shooting percentage was the key to the game, with the Cardinals hitting 53.4 percent of their shots to the Racers 27.8 percentage. MSU did record 11 triples to UL's six, but got to the charity stripe just 10 (7 made) times to the Cardinals 25 (21 made).
The Racers will finally return home to the CFSB Center, for their lone game in Murray, Ky., in the month of December, when they host Saint Louis, Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
