The Murray State Racers host the Morehead State Eagles in a showdown where the winner takes over first place in the Ohio Valley Conference Thursday in an 8 p.m. tip at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. Twenty games have come and gone for the Racers since their first meeting with the Eagles which was Dec. 4, a win for the Eagles 75-65. Morehead State makes its first appearance at the CFSB Center since Dec. 5, 2009.

The winner of this game will clinch atleast a share of the title. The final game of the season is Saturday when the Racers host Eastern Kentucky and the Eagles play at UT Martin.

The Racers are coming off a 72-47 win over Evansville Saturday in the Sears BracketBusters when they dominated the second half 42-21 and posted their 21st win of the season and moved their home record this season to 11-2. Jeffery McClain set career highs in rebounds (12) and assists (6) as the Racers won the rebound battled against the Aces 38-26. MSU was 8-16 from three point range marking the fifth time this season they have hit eight or more in a game.

The Racers enjoy one of the best home court advantages in all of college basketball with a winning percentage of more than 85 percent in the 13 seasons of games in the CFSB Center including a 84 percent success rate in OVC games. In the last four seasons of the Billy Kennedy era, MSU has posted a 52-6 mark. MSU had the nation's fourth-longest win streak going earlier this season at 25 straight when it was stopped by Austin Peay 66-64 on Jan. 8.

The final week of games leads to the OVC Tournament at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn March 2-5 when all eight men's and women's teams gather to decided the league's representatives to the NCAA Tournament. The new bracket format has made the regular season very competitive with teams trying to gain one of the top four seeds to avoid having to win four games for the title. Seeds 5-8 play March 2, with seeds 3-4 getting a pass to the quarterfinals (March 3). The top two seeds get a bye to the semifinals (March 4) on ESPNU. The championship game (March 5) will be aired on ESPN2.
