The Murray State women's tennis team lost 7-0 to Samford in its second of five Spring Break matches.

The Racers (3-8, 0-1 OVC) saw sophomore Ashley Canty force her match to three sets and freshman Carla Suga battled to a 10-8 decision in a super tie-breaker match at No. 6 singles.

Canty took the opening set of No. 2 singles against Andrie Meiring before falling in the final two sets (6-0, 6-1).

“I made some adjustments to the line-up today to see if I could get some more competitive results,” said head coach Connie Keasling. “I saw some better performances and I think that we will be able to get some confidence in the next few matches so we can move forward.”

The Racers will continue their Spring Break road trip next week with three matches. MSU will first face George Mason in Hilton Head, S.C. at Shipyard starting a 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 15.
