Results

The Murray State men's tennis team won a second straight Ohio Valley Conference match Tuesday when they defeated Eastern Illinois 4-3 at Bennie Purcell Courts in Murray, Ky.

The match was tied 3-3, when Max McLean nailed down a 7-5, 6-2 win for the Racers from the sixth singles slot over EIU's Volo Zverkovsky.

Earlier, MSU made a clean sweep of the doubles matches with Arthur Valle and Daniel Heibel posting an 8-6 win. Jose Berardo and Tyler Jeffers won their match 8-4, while McClean and Aleks Mitric won 8-5.

In other singles results, MSU's Valle defeated EIU's Michael Sperry 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 for his third straight win in three sets and Heibel defeated Kevin Bauman 7-6, 6-1.

The Racers (5-10, 3-3 OVC) finish the regular season on the road at Eastern Kentucky Friday and Morehead State on Saturday.
