The Breds return to Ohio Valley Conference action as they travel to face conference-leading Austin Peay in a three-game series. The series is set to get underway at 6 p.m. Friday evening. The series will continue at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and conclude with a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.

Weekend Baseball
The Breds return to Ohio Valley Conference action as they travel to face conference-leading Austin Peay. The series is set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday, and continue with a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, and a 1 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

The weather will be great for baseball this weekend as there is little chance of rain all three days. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 70s on Friday, while temperatures are expected to reach the low 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
vs. Austin Peay
The Breds are looking for their first series victory in Clarksville since the 1998 season. MSU has lost six-straight series, including getting swept in 2000, 2004 and 2006.
Quick Game
Murray State's 3-1 victory over Evansville did not take very long as the teams completed the game in a brisk 1:45. The teams combined for just four walks and one error over nine innings.
Breds End Streak to Purple Aces
Murray State put an end to a 13-game losing streak to Evansville when the Breds handed the Purple Aces a 3-1 defeat on April 11. The victory also gave UE their first midweek loss of the season.

When talking about where Brandon Elliott has started a game this season, it may be easier just to list the positions he has not started a game. He has started 22 games this season, starting at every position accept second base, first base and catcher. He has not made more than four starts at any of the five positions in the field, but has started nine games at designated hitter.
Pitchers Over Last 4 Games
After surrendering 14 walks in a midweek loss to Southern Illinois, the Breds pitching staff has rebounded to walk just eight and allow just six earned runs over the past four games. They have struck out 22 and allowed 28 hits over the 36 innings. They have also not allowed more than three earned runs in any of the four games, and allowed just one extra-base hit.
Breds Record OVC Shutout
Murray State closed out the weekend series against UT Martin with a 7-0 victory. The shutout was the first this season, and the first in an Ohio Valley Conference game since the Breds shutout the Skyhawks on May 9, 2009.
