Murray State's troubles on the road at Evansville continued Wednesday evening as the Breds fell 13-2 to the Purple Aces at Braun Stadium.

The Breds (19-23) got on the board in the first inning as Paul Ritzheimer doubled down the left-field line and scored on Dylan Wheeler's single to left center.

The Purple Aces (25-16) wasted little time in responding as they got a sacrifice fly from Kyle Pollock before Trent Copeland delivered a three-run home run to left field.

UE added another run in the second innings as Eric Stamets beat out a bunt single and stole second. After a balk moved the runner to third, Jake Mahon delivered a sacrifice fly to center field.

The Purple Aces broke the game open in the fourth as Stamets delivered a sacrifice fly, ahead of Kevin Kaczmarski's RBI double and Blake Hockemeyer's two-run triple to right center.

After UE pushed across another run in the sixth, the Breds score a run in the seventh as Brandon Elliott was hit by a pitch for the 11th time this season. A groundout advanced Elliott to second, Noah Zipko delivered an RBI single to left field.

Tim Vonder Haar (1-5) took the loss after allowing five runs on four hits over two innings. Ryan Billo (7-1) earned the victory after allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings.

The Breds return to the diamond Friday afternoon as they open a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against SIU Edwardsville. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Reagan Field.
