Breds Score 10 Runs In 8th To Win Suspended Game 11-5 Over SIUE

The Murray State Thoroughbreds resumed a weather delayed game one of their home Ohio Valley Conference series with SIU Edwardsville Saturday at Reagan Field in Murray, Ky., and posted an amazing 10 run eighth inning to get an 11-5 win.
After getting the game into the seventh inning Friday, the teams waited out a 90 minute lightning delay and then darkness caused the game to be suspended on Saturday.
Trailing 4-1 when play resumed, the 'Breds gave up a run to trail by four when they batted in their half of the eighth.
MSU (20-23, 6-10 OVC) started with three straight hits as Colton Speed, Ty Stetson and Travis Isaak started with a single and two doubles to make it a 5-3 game. After SIUE made an error on a sacrifice bunt by Jacob Rhodes, Mike Kozlowski made it hurt with a 2-run triple to tie the game at 5-5. The 'Breds were just getting started, though MSU eventually sent nine batters to the plate with no outs being recorded. Stetson and Isaak each batted again in the inning and had RBI hits as MSU scored 10 runs to lead 11-5.
Will Handlin came on to finish off the win for Cameron Finch who relieved Tyler Beers who was pitching Friday when the game was stopped. Finch went one inning to get the win after Beers pitched seven innings Friday on four runs and four.
Stetson was 4-6 at the plate with 3 RBI, while Isaak was 3-6 with 3 RBI.
The 'Breds banged eight hits in the eighth inning along and finished with 15 for the game.
SIUE dropped to 8-9 in the OVC and 21-22 overall.
