Men's Tennis Falls at Middle Tennessee

The Murray State men's tennis team was defeated on Sunday afternoon 6-1 by Middle Tennessee State in Nashville.

Ryan Kennedy picked up the Racers' (0-2) lone win in the match as he defeated Pedro Gonzalez 6-2 and 6-2 at number five singles.

At number six singles, Nicholas Mitric lost in three sets to Marlon Brand, 6-0, 2-6 and 10-7. Tyler Jeffers lost at number one singles 6-4 and 6-1, while Adam Taylor was defeated by Yannick Born at number two singles, 6-2 and 7-6 (7-5).

Max McLean rounded-out the singles scores for MSU, losing at number four singles 6-2, 6-2. In doubles competition, the duo of Kennedy and Taylor were defeated 8-1. Aleks Mitric and McLean lost at number three doubles 8-0 while Nicholas Mitric and Jeffers didn't finish their match at number two doubles.

The Racers turn right around on Monday as they will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face the University of Tennessee in a pair of matches beginning at 2 and 6 p.m.
