Racer Men's Tennis Drops Two at Tennessee

The Murray State men's tennis team finished up its holiday-weekend road trip with a pair of losses at Tennessee, losing 4-0 and 6-0 at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
In the first match, Tennessee won the doubles' point by winning all three doubles matches. The tandem of Adam Taylor and Ryan Kennedy lost to the 26th-ranked duo of Tennessee's Mikelis Libietis and Jarryd Chaplin 8-4. Tyler Jeffers and Nicholas Mitric lost at number two doubles 8-1. While the team of Max McLean and Aleks Mitric fell 8-5 at number three doubles.
In the singles portion, Taylor fell at number one 6-2, 6-2. Joao Camara lost 6-0 and 6-0 at number three and Kennedy lost at number five singles 6-2 and 6-0. The matches at two, four and six were unfinished after Tennessee had secured the match.
In the second match of the day, Jeffers was defeated 6-1 and 6-2 at number one singles to 40th-ranked Hunter Reese. Jeffers fell 6-1, 6-3 to ninth-ranked Libietis at number two singles and Camara lost by the same count at number three.
Tennessee's Brandon Fickey claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory over McLean in match number two, while Kennedy and Nicholas Mitric lost 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-0, respectively in their second singles matches on Monday.
The two teams did not play the doubles portion of the second match.
The Racers are off now for the rest of the month and will return to action on Feb. 7 for their first home match of the 2013 season when they host Division II powerhouse Abilene Christian.
