The Murray State Racers continue their two-game road trip Saturday at Jacksonville State. Tip time at Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Ala. is 4:30 p.m. The game will be heard over the air on Racer Radio on WFGE 103.7 FM and online at Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com. The Racer TV Network will air the game on the Purchase Area cable systems of Time Warner, Mediacom, Murray Electric and Comcast. ESPN3 will also stream the game online as well as the OVC Digital Network.
The Murray State Racers won for the fourth straight time Thursday in a 47-39 road victory at Tennessee Tech at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tenn. MSU (15-4) leads the west division in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 6-1 mark, as they also pushed their road record this season to 7-1.
In their lowest scoring game in years, the Racers found a way to get it done as Isaiah Canaan led the way with 15 points and Ed Daniel scored his 11th double-double of the season with most of it in the second half with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The combined 86 points in the game marked the lowest combined scoring game for MSU in 27 years. On Dec. 14, 1985 under rookie head coach Steve Newton, the Racers and Evansville also scored 86 points. The Racers came away the winner at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind., 52-34.
MSU All-America selection Isaiah Canaan enters the JSU game with a school-record streak of 28 games with a made three-point basket. Canaan is 224 points from becoming the sixth member of the MSU 2000-Point Club and the 17th in the history of the OVC,
After the road trip this week to TTU and JSU, the Racers will finish the season with six games at home in the final eight. MSU hosts Austin Peay a week from Saturday (Feb. 2) after having all of next week off.
