Men's Tennis Picks Up 6-1 Win Over Western Kentucky

The Murray State men's tennis squad picked up its second consecutive 6-1 victory Wednesday afternoon as the Racers defeated Western Kentucky in their final non-conference match of the season.
For the second-straight match, the Racers won the doubles point. MSU (2-16) won at number one and two doubles in the match. The team of Adam Taylor and Ryan Kennedy were victorious at one 8-5, while the duo of Tyler Jeffers and Joao Camara won at two, 8-4. The team of Nicholas and Aleks Mitric lost at number three 9-7.
The Racers were strong in singles play as well. Winning 5-of-6 matches. Taylor won at number two singles 6-4 and 6-3. Jeffers was victorious in a three-set thriller. Jeffers won 2-6, 6-3 and 10-2. At three, Kennedy won 6-4 and 6-2. Nicholas Mitric and Aleks Mitric picked up the final two clinching wins for the Racers, winning at five and six, respectively. Nicholas won 6-1, 6-2 and Aleks won 6-2, 6-3.
Murray State will look for its third consecutive victory as it returns to OVC action this weekend with a pair of matches. Jacksonville State comes to Murray on Saturday for a 10 a.m. match. Sunday, the Racers will face Tennessee Tech at 11 a.m.
