Racers Cruise By TSU to Run Streak to Six

The Murray State women's tennis team rolled to its sixth consecutive victory on Sunday as the Racers defeated Tennessee State 6-0.

The Racers (10-7, 7-1 OVC) dominated the match from start to finish, winning the doubles point with a pair of 8-0 victories. The duo of Ashley Canty and Carolyn Huerth won at number one doubles, while the team of Megan Blue and Carla Suga won at number two. MSU took the third doubles match, winning by default.

It was more of the same in singles play as the Racers won all four singles matches. Canty and Huerth didn't lose a single game in their victories at number one and three, respectively, winning 6-0 and 6-0. Suga won easily at number two, 6-1 and 6-0.

The Racers won at number five and six by default. Suzaan Stoltz's match at number four went unfinished, but Stoltz took the first set 6-1 before the Racers had clinched the team victory.

The Racers will look for seven in a row next week as they will finish up the regular season with a pair of home matches. UT Martin comes to town on Friday for a 2 p.m. match. Jacksonville State will be the opponent for the finale on Saturday at 10 a.m.
