Men's Tennis Picks Up Win Over TSU

The Murray State men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season on Sunday when it defeated Tennessee State 6-1 in Nashville.
The Racers (1-16, 1-6 OVC) picked up the doubles point in the match by winning all three doubles matches. The duo of Tyler Jeffers and Adam Taylor won at number one 8-3. The team of Aleks and Nicholas Mitric won at two 8-3 as well, while the team of Joao Camara and Ryan Kennedy won by default.
MSU took five of six singles matches on the day. Jeffers picked up a 6-0, 6-2 at number two over TSU's William Simmons. Kennedy also had a strong victory at number three for the Racers, winning 6-0 and 6-1. Aleks Mitric picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at number four in the match.
Nik Mitric was leading his match at number 5, 1-0 in the first set before Brad Stroud was retired. Camara got the win by default at number six.
The Racers will return to action on Wednesday for its final non-conference tilt of the season as they will host Western Kentucky at 3 p.m.
