All-American Alexis Love qualified for the quarterfinals in the 200-meter dash Friday night on the second day of the NCAA East Regional from Greensboro, N.C. Love ran a time of 23.84 in the race and finished sixth in her heat.
Love was definitely in the fast heat of the 200 Friday as six runners from her heat qualified for Saturday's quarterfinals. Love will look to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet tomorrow evening at 6:35 in the event.
Love also ran in the quarterfinals of the 100 dash Friday and finished with a time of 11.51 in the race, just missing the cut for the NCAA Championships in June.
Sharda Bettis made her meet debut in the 100-meter hurdles for Murray State. Bettis recorded a time of 13.61 in her heat of the 100 hurdles, failing to qualify for the quarterfinals in the event. Bettis caps an amazing junior season for the Racers, a season that saw her set the school record in both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles and included an OVC title in the 100 hurdles.
