Tennis Heads to Chattanooga for Baras Classic

Murray State women's tennis will play in their second tournament of the fall. After capturing four titles and being represented in each final match last week at the Austin Peay Open, the Racers will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic.
The tournament will take place Friday-Sunday at the UTC Tennis Center on the Chattanooga campus. Eastern Kentucky and UT Martin will be the only other OVC schools in attendance. Additionally, Kansas State, Alabama-Birmingham, Lipscomb, Kennesaw State and Lee University are also participating.
Play will kick-off Friday morning with doubles competition. Carla Suga and Andrea Eskauriatza team up at No. 1 doubles and will face the team of Daniell and Simon from UAB. Verginie and Eleonore Tchakarova will join forces at No. 2 doubles and will take on Kromer and Djuknic of Lipscomb and Megan Blue and Erin Patton will face Pecovski (UTC) and Rodriguez (EKU) at No.3 doubles. First serve is scheduled for 8:30 am.
On the singles side, Eskauriatza will play at the No.1 singles draw. She'll go up against Stein of Kansas State.
Both Suga and Eleonore Tchakarova will compete in the No.2 draw. Suga will face Flynn of UTC and Tchakarova battles Welcher of Lipscomb.
Blue will take on Baccarini of UAB at the No.3 singles draw while Verginie Tchakarova squares off against Tari of UTM.
Rounding out the singles matches are Patton at No. 5 against Plocher of KSU and Stoltz, who receives a bye into the quarterfinals at No.6, against the winner of Nicole (UTM) and Friedlander (Lee).
Singles competition is set to begin at 12 pm Friday afternoon.
