Racers Compete At UL Fall Invitational

The Murray State men's tennis team is participated in the Louisville Fall Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The event featured two flights of singles each featuring a bracket of 32 competitors and two flights of doubles brackets with 16 combos.
Â
The Racers joined host UL and: Butler, Campbellsville, DePaul, Kentucky, Indiana, Morehead State, Northwestern Ohio, Purdue, St. Catherine College, SIU Edwardsville and West Alabama.

The weekend matches were highlighted by Murray State's Will True who had a win in the A-flight singles and Anjan Kashyab who got a win in the B-flight.

True lost his opening match with SIUE's Jacob Perkins 6-3, 6-3, but came back in the consolation bracket to defeat Enrique Samudio of Morehead State 6-2, 6-4. True lost his next match 6-0, 7-6 to Daniel Rueda of Northwestern Ohio.

In the B-flight, MSU's Anjan Kashyab lost to Tim Corwin of DePaul 6-2, 6-0, but rebounded in the consolation bracket to defeat Tyler Edlin of Morehead State 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Kashyab's run ended with a 6-0, 6-2 loss to SIUE's Tristan Houle.

Srdijan Trosic of Murray State lost his B-flight first round match to Max Renke of DePaul 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and then lost 6-0, 6-4 to Akira Kuwada of Northwestern Ohio.

Max McLean played in the A-flight and dropped a 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 decision to Sten Leusink of Depaul and then lost to Austin Woldmoe of Butler.

In A-flight doubles play, the Racer duo of True and McLean dropped an 8-2 decision to the Indiana Hoosiers' tandem of Raheel Manji and Matt McCoy. In the B-flight doubles, MSU's pair of Trosic and Kashyab were defeated 8-2 by Purdue's Bouggy and Dages. The Racer duo dropped into the consolation bracket where they were defeated by Northwestern Ohio's Myburgh and Kuwada 8-4.

The Racers are now finished with their fall portion of the 2014-15 season.
